VolkerLaser – Safety First

 In E-Bulletin, Issue 19

VolkerLaser has added two innovative access systems to its portfolio, to aid in the repair and maintenance of structures, putting the safety of its workforce first, as well as streamlining work strategies.
Fast Beam provides secure and efficient access to bridge parapets, creating a steady working platform suspended beyond the edge of a concrete deck, replacing the need for conventional scaffolding solutions. With 50 metres being able to be installed by a team of five, within an eight-hour shift – the system saves clients both time and money, whilst providing a safe working area for works to be completed. The system has already been used on a number of key projects across the UK, including M5 Oldbury Viaduct and on the M1.
Accessing the underside of structures, brings in V-Deck™, which replaces traditional suspended scaffolding for under deck working areas on bridges, jetties and ports. With significant time and cost savings for the client, as well as a reduction in manual handling, V-Deck™ can be designed to suit almost any shape or size of application, making it an extremely flexible solution.
With in house design capabilities incorporating BIM and 3D design, VolkerLaser can provide fully integrated BIM solutions for repair projects, using the two access systems in tandem to facilitate a safe, 360 degree working area for works to be undertaken.
