CRL AWARDED AREA 10 FRAMEWORK

 In Issue 14

CRL are pleased to announce a Construction Works Framework award by Highways England. The contract is for structures and structural services on the Highways England road network across Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Cheshire and South Lancashire, known as Area 10. We will be working alongside Amey who were awarded the maintenance & response and design services last year. This is the third structural maintenance framework awarded to CRL in the last two years covering five of the fourteen areas across England. Our contract for Area 10 commences on 1st April and runs for four years.

The contracts were awarded on the basis of quality and price with a rigorous Health & Safety assessment. We will be working closely with the client to help develop schemes at the value engineering stage, introducing new ideas and innovation based on our 60 years’ experience in the industry. We look forward to working with Highways England and Amey as a collaborative member of the community helping to deliver the Roads Investment Strategy in these regions.

CRL have been consistently at the forefront of asset maintenance technology in the highways sector helping to develop cathodic protection systems and the use of carbon fibre reinforced polymer composites for structural strengthening. We have also assisted in the development of industry standards and guidance documents with the Concrete Society, CIRIA, European Technical Committees and trade associations.
