Flexcrete Facelift for DVLA Car Park

A multi-storey car park in Swansea is receiving a major facelift using Flexcrete’s concrete repair and protection products.
Foreva Concrete Repairs, a subsidiary company of Freyssinet, is undertaking concrete repair and waterproofing works at the car park on the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) site in Swansea. Flexcrete Monopour has been specified as waterproof reinstatement to the car park deck and Monomix HD is being used for soffit repairs.

Monopour is a free-flowing cementitious repair mortar which is designed for large scale concrete repairs. It is rapid curing with high early and long-term strength, developing compressive strength at 20°C of at least 15 MPa in 1 day and 60 MPa in 28 days. Based on the latest proven cement chemistry incorporating microsilica and styrene acrylic copolymer technology, Monopour provides outstanding protection from the ingress of acid gases, water and chlorides.

Soffit repairs are being carried out with a dry spray application of Flexcrete Monomix HD – a high strength, waterproof, shrinkage compensated, class R4 mortar which exhibits extremely low rebound. The high bond strength of Monomix HD exceeds the tensile strength of concrete and its dense matrix offers low permeability to water, even at 10 bar pressure, and very high diffusion resistance to acid gases and chloride ions. Non-toxic when cured, the product is supplied as a single component system ready for on-site mixing and use, requiring only the addition of clean water. It is CE marked in accordance with BS EN 1504, the pan European standard for concrete repair.
